ABOUT

My name is Alex Gibson, and welcome to my webpage! For the past five years, I have been working in software Quality Assurance and have decided to make the shift from testing code, to actually writing it. I am currently training to become a full-stack developer at the University of California - Berkeley Extension and hope to graduate in December 2021 with a Certificate of Course Completion. I have experience working with Javascript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Materialize, Bootstrap, Node.js, Express.js, SQL, handlebars.js, and various Web APIs.

I am an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst with a demonstrated history of success in the electronic medical records and software industry. I have worn many hats in my role and have done things including: managing software development projects and quality, implementing process improvements, championing accessibility and internationalization testing, and advocating for the end-user experience.

The 3D Art Gallery

The 3D Art Gallery aims to improve upon the virtual museum experience by displaying museum paintings in a 3D space while exaggerating the texturing on the picture to give a feeling that you’re right in close. Users can grab, manipulate, zoom in, zoom out, and see how light interacts with a piece of art.

Built with: Javascript, jQuery, three.js, HTML, CSS, Materialize, Rijksmuseum API, MET API, and QR Code Generator API.

Weather at a glance

Weather Dashboard

This is a simple weather dashboard web app that utilizes OpenWeather API to show the current weather and a five-day forecast for any city. You can also search previously entered locations with ease by pressing on the recently searched buttons.
